August 2026 Book Picks

I can’t believe it’s already the middle of July! Sometimes the days are long, but the weeks surely do fly.

So what’s been up with Curator Kate and Box of Books? Well, we are slowly moving forward from the GMA Scam. I’ve had several incredibly kind and supportive book lovers reach out with ideas and opportunities to help pull me out of the hole I fell into.

One booktastic idea that was floated my way is to do an bookish advent box! And I absolutely loved the idea. Box of Books is going to do a super fun Halloween Advent Book Box 🎃, but only on a small scale. So if you’re interested in 31 days of spooktacular fun, I recommend reserving your box as soon as possible.

We are also going to do a Christmas Advent Book Box, so keep an eye out for that.

I’m excited for the August line up. We have some really great reads on the horizon. From falling into the world of MASH (you remember the game) to an old Egyptian curse to an Iron Age body preserved in a bog… and let’s not forget the librarians that solve murders… there truly is a wide range of TBR potential here.
