Shipping and Returns

Are there shipping fees?

All book boxes ship free to destinations in the USA.

Do you offer international shipping?

We currently only ship within the USA.

How long does my order take to ship?

New orders typically ship out within 2 to 3 business days of purchase. Subsequent boxes ship out every 4 weeks from sign up date (typically on the 1st, 7th, 14, and 21st of each month).

My package or item arrived damaged. What do I do?

Packages leave our facility in proper condition for transport and customer acceptance. However, we also understand accidents do happen during shipment. If you receive a damaged or missing product, please email us within three days of delivery with an image of the damaged item and the package with the mailing label visible. We will either, at Box of Books’ discretion, replace damaged items with a new one or provide an extra book. These are included with your next shipment.

Any claims with shipping companies must be made by the customer. We will provide any information we have to assist you with your claim.

Please note: Sometimes our distributors send us books with visible… flaws… on them. While we weed out the really bad ones, we cannot accept damage claims for slight bends and markings on books.

What is your return policy?

  1. We typically do not accept returns for our subscription boxes, but also understand that there are exceptions to every rule. If there is something wrong with the contents, we will make it right. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your first Box of Books to discuss options.

  2. If you forgot to cancel a renewal and wish for a refund, please contact us within ten (10) days of renewal charge. We will certainly give you a refund for any unshipped boxes. We cannot offer refunds for any shipped boxes. Unauthorized returned boxes will not be refunded.

Why aren’t all shipments in a subscription box?

In order to keep prices as low as possible, Box of Books will choose to ship your package in (ironically) a padded poly mailer! While it does create quite a conundrum with the business’ name, we have found that it not only allows us to put more money into the products you keep, but it is also a lot more environmentally friendly and uses up less space in your waste bin.
